For the love of cotton

Things have been busy at the Jeni Lynn Studio. Another custom order, a new job and lots of weaving of course. I recently finished my largest woven piece to date- a 29" x 70" cotton tablecloth. What a challenge but the payoff has been wonderful. I used a 8/4 navy and baby blue cotton yarn warp and I couldn't be happier. It's soft and when woven creates a very loose weave. Therefore the final piece flows beautifully- just like a river.

Here are some photos from the project.

The set up- the warp is being threaded through the reed.

The tie up and weaving- I used two different colors for the weft to create this awesome pattern.

I'm excited to get back on the loom this week and set it up for another tablecloth. This time instead of baby blue and navy for the warp, I'm going to use aqua and navy. Let's see how that turns out.

Finally- here are the bookmarks I made for Cindy in Florida. I love working with customers on special orders!
